چکیده

High exploitation of the blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) has significantly reduced its wild populations. The domestication process this species been started; however, breeding program not yet successful. Therefore, study aimed to examine reproduction performance intraspecific hybrids from Sorong (Papua) and Barru (South Sulawesi), Indonesia. P. pelagicus a bigger size, while better performance, including fecundity egg diameter. Hybridization was conducted between crabs with different combinations broodstock, namely: female ><Barru male, (BF><BM); ><Sorong male (BF><SM); (SF><BM). results showed no significant difference in diameter three hybridization trials. number successfully spawned broodstock BF><BM, BF><SM, SF><BM were 3, 2 respectively. Meanwhile, mean values 117, 109, 151 eggs/g BW, Furthermore, per 7,797 eggs, 10,103 10,605 0.58 mm, 0.57 0.62 In conclusion, carried out populations showing differences crosses. successful spawning higher than that Sorong.

Genetic population differentiation of the blue swimming crab Portunus pelagicus (Portunidae) in Thai waters revealed by RAPD analysis.

Genetic diversity and population differentiation of the blue swimming crab, Portunus pelagicus, in Thailand were analyzed by RAPD analysis. One hundred and twelve RAPD fragments were generated from 109 individuals of P. pelagicus using OPA02, OPA14, OPB10, UBC122, and UBC158 primers. The percentage of polymorphic bands in each geographic sample and that of each primer across overall samples wer...
